About Lakedell Agricultural Society

Established December 1973

The Lakedell Agricultural Society is located half a mile south of Highway 13 on Range Road 12, just south of the Lakedell School. The Society is a registered charity that is supported by over 300 volunteers from the community.

The Ag Society hosts "Alberta's Largest One-Day Fair" on the Saturday of the Labour Day weekend. Family fun for everyone includes a bench show, pancake breakfast, parade, concessions, muttin' bustin', trade show, horse events and much, much more. This year, come see for yourself how much family fun we jam into one day on September 1, 2012.

Bullridin' and Bootscootin' is held the third Saturday in March. There are 32 riders from World Professional Bull Riding Inc and when they are done entertaining the crowd, you can dance to a live band.

Every Friday, from May 18 to September 7, 2012, we hold our Farmer's Market from 4pm-7pm. There is a wide variety of vendors - baking, fresh fruit and vegetables, smoked and fresh fish, elk meat and crafts. Drop by and check it out - we run rain or shine!

There are various groups that regularly use the facilities, 4-H Beef, 4-H Lighthorse, Mighty Mutts Dog Agility Club, Gymkhana Club, Kids Playgroup and Pigeon Lake Lions Club. We have a heated indoor arena that can be used for riding, cattle sales, achievement days and exotic bird sales. There are also two outdoor arenas that are used for barrel racing, gymkhanas and mini chuckwagon races. The Main Hall is used for banquets, weddings, trade shows, conferences, Grey Cup and Super Bowl parties watching the game on the BIG screen. There is an outdoor childrens' playground and we offer a in-house caterer for your event. In the winter, our curling club is very active with various leagues - Junior Curling, Mixed on 2 nights, Women Day and Evening leagues, 50 Plus and a Stick Curling league. There are bonspiels held all through the season from October to March.

Come spend some time at the Ag Society and you will see for yourself how lucky the community is to have a facility such as this!
