06/07/2012 If you want to encourage the budding scientiests or tech geeks in your family you should consider sending your children to one of the many science and technology summer camps on offer at various locations in or near Victoria BC. Keeping those young minds stimulated throughout the long summer school break can be a challenge if they’re just sitting at home, summer camps can be fun and educational!
Popular local science and technology summer camps include:
Inside Out Camp Dinosaur – at the Royal BC Museum young paleontologists (ages 6-12) will discover how dinosaurs looked and moved, lived and died. Campers will spend lots of time in our feature exhibition as well as get out doors to explore some of Victoria’s geological wonders.

Explore Mad Science – Rocket Science at the Central Saanich Cultural Centre. Children aged 5-11 can investigate the possibilities of flight and prepare to be a pilot, an astronaut or an engineer designer. Children will have the opportunity to create a variety of flying machines and planes and find the best conditions in which they fly. They will delve into the mysteries of our solar system and learn how astronauts live and work in space.
Become a Junior Geologist or Junior Biologist at Hands on Summer Camp where children aged 5-12 can learn basic biology or geology in a fun atmosphere. Each week-long camp features hands-on, discovery-based learning and fun physical activities.
At Byte Camp 3D Animation kids 11-14 will spend the week learning about 3D animation by modeling, animating and telling stories in 3D. They’ll use wonderful (& free!) 3D software to design characters that jump off the screen.
