Sustainea’s website (www.sustainea.com ), provides a place for professionals, companies and associations to connect and collaborate as the world moves towards a future powered by energy from sustainable sources.

With over 850 registered members (and a multitude of free associate members who are not included in this total) in the areas of biofuels, wind energy, solar energy, transmission, cleantech, and geothermal, the concept certainly seems to be resonating with the global sustainable energy community.

The difference between Sustainea and some of the other renewable energy associations is that Sustainea’s focus is less on news or advocacy and more on providing individual tools for companies to communicate and collaborate with each other. There are various levels of memberships - including a free option - that allow users to set up a profile, join groups and communicate with others with the functionality of LinkedIn or similar social networking platforms but with much richer tools to develop unique profiles, attach corporate press releases and market their events.

As more attention is focused on developing renewable energy worldwide, and more incentives are provided for renewable energy projects, companies and professionals will continue to seek out opportunities to connect with each other, ensuring that Sustainea will continue to dominate as a force in the sustainable energy sector.
