Meet Melanie Woods, our Welder/Fabricator at Liftsafe! Melanie's journey into welding began with a simple class that ignited her passion for this trade. She pursued further education, empowered by her family's rich welding legacy. In the welding industry, gender biases still persist, hindering women's progress. Melanie defied the odds, joining the Liftsafe Group in 2018, where her unwavering commitment has made her an indispensable part of our team. Melanie's advice to aspiring young women in welding/fabrication is simple yet powerful: "Don't hesitate to ask questions and seize every opportunity to learn from others." #WomenInWelding #BreakingBarriers https://lnkd.in/gYHheAm6 Read more about the women of LGOC: https://lnkd.in/g8_pTWDV

Most could never imagine what a #StarWars and #industrialmaterialhandling crossover would look like. Recently, a documentary was released that does just that. You will be surprised by the ending. #happystarwarsday #maythefourthbewithyou

THE HIERARCHY OF FALL PROTECTION 1. Hazard elimination – taking away the hazard or exposure to it. 2. Passive fall protection – putting up physical barriers to keep people away from the hazard (requires no extra training or PPE). 3. Fall restraint systems – prevent workers from getting close to the hazard by using PPE to restrict their range of movement (requires training, subject to human error and compliance). 4. Fall arrest systems – safely catch workers after they fall using PPE (requires training, subject to human error). 5. Administrative controls – best practices, procedures to increase awareness of hazards. Companies should consider guardrail systems to reduce costs associated with active fall protection requirements like harnesses, lanyards, roof anchor systems, and horizontal lifelines. This reduces the need for additional equipment, fines, and employee non-compliance. https://lnkd.in/ejpiTJg
