About us
Green Standards specializes in the responsible and cost-effective redistribution of office surplus, including furniture, fixtures, supplies, and IT equipment. We work with more than 25% of Fortune 100 companies as well as governments around the world. On a turnkey basis, we efficiently channel your surplus office assets according to your company’s priorities for charitable donations, recycling, and resale. We de-risk the process by taking responsibility for third-party valuations, title transfers and IRS-compliant documentation. We also support clients in telling their story of social responsibility and environmental stewardship -- to employees, external stakeholders, and the wider world – via a real-time reporting portal and customized communication materials, including text and multimedia content. To date, we have diverted 110,000 thousand tons of F-Waste (furniture waste) from landfill with our corporate partners, avoiding more than 185,000 metric tons of Co2 emissions while facilitating upwards of $40 million dollars of in-kind donations to 5,000+ non-profits and community organizations. Our clients are typically leading brands from all sectors, including General Motors, Adobe, Microsoft, Salesforce, United Airlines, PNC Bank and many others.

I've always found the taxation of "second hand" product infuriating but haven't been able to put words to it quite as well as IKEA: "SHT isn't a permanent solution. Happy #EarthDay! 🌍 This year, as we celebrate the beauty and importance of our planet, the focus is on reducing plastic consumption and embracing sustainable alternatives. To truly address this pressing challenge, we get to 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 — to expand our metrics beyond the conventional factors of time, cost, and convenience and to prioritize circular, long-lasting solutions with every decision we make. In discussing strategies for reducing plastic consumption with some colleagues, I recorded a few responses and I share some insights in the snippets below.
