Our Commercial team was hard at work for this past project on McGill Block Plaza. The original task saw us waterproofing the below-grade slab of the basement, however, upon removing the asphalt and exposing the slab, we uncovered extensive deterioration of both the slab and 2' of the basement walls, requiring us to do a full reconstruction. 🔨🏗️ Our team is always ready to quickly pivot and alter our approaches for a project if the need arises, especially when working on buildings that have been around for a long period of time. 🙌 #McGillBlockPlaza #calgary #commercialproject #yycliving #roofingandexteriors

With the amount of fresh snow we've seen the past week, it's essential to remember there's still some winter maintenance that can be done on your eaves before warmer weather hits. 🙌 Here are some maintenance tips for you to consider to get your eaves out of the final parts of winter unscathed: Watch Those Icicles: Worried about those pesky icicles hanging from your eaves? Don't fret! While significant icicles could signal attic issues like excess heat or poor insulation, sometimes they can be from uniquely shady areas on your property. If you do notice a number of large icicles, that could also be a telling sign of ice damming, which our team has plenty of experience inspecting and removing. It's best to keep an eye out and give us a call if any concerns arise. ❄️ Downspout Maintenance: Remember, it's essential to prevent any snow from piling up near the end of your downspouts to ensure that water is successfully draining away from the exterior of your home. One of our past projects saw our commercial team having the opportunity to work on this multi-use site in Canmore, featuring a mix of retail, residential, and short-term rental properties. Tasked with enhancing the property's longevity, we upgraded the ventilation system and applied cold-applied roofing membrane for added durability. Completing the look, we installed Malarkey Roofing Products Windsor shingles in a Black Oak colorway, blending in well with the surrounding mountainous backdrop.
