Our one day visit to the Kaulbach House in Lunenburg, was much too short. Its central location and parking lot make it a great find in this very walkable, though hilly town. If you can climb two flights of stairs you can stay in one of two spacious suites on the second floor. Ours had a bedroom and a sitting room with a lovely view over the harbor. The young proprietors have made all sorts of improvements to the historic house including wonderful modern bathroom facilities. Due to an unforeseen change of plans we had to leave early to catch the Digby Ferry before the regular breakfast time but we sent off with fresh homemade muffins, egg sandwiches and coffee to enjoy on our way. A happy end to a lovely visit.
