Meet Katherine Da Silva, CPA, CA! We asked Katherine a few questions about her role, see what she had to say below: What does your job entail?   As Senior Manager, E-Commerce – Trading for Joefresh.com, my focus is on driving short-term and long-term strategies that help drive growth and improve our customer’s online shopping experience. I provide key insights and analyses that help drive assortment decisions, promotional strategies and inventory management. I am responsible for developing financial plans and continually review performance indicators to make timely profitability decisions. I work with an amazing team of people who love what they do and I am so proud of all of the work we’ve done so far!   How has your career grown since starting at Joe Fresh?   I started at Joe Fresh as the Senior Manager, Finance with a focus on supporting the Joe Fresh e-commerce business from a finance perspective. In this role, I worked very closely with the e-commerce team at Loblaw Digital and eventually moved into the role I’m in now, where I am able to combine my financial acumen with my love for fashion and e-commerce. I have had the pleasure of being able to work cross-functionally across the business and through these experiences, I have worked with and learned from so many exceptional colleagues.   Thank you for sharing! 🧡 #JoeFresh #MyJFJourney #EmployeeAppreciation

Meet Jillian Siu! We asked Jillian a few questions about her role, see what she had to say below:   What does your job entail? On any given day my job requires me to jump back and forth between working in the present and the future. The beauty of working this way is that while I’m reactively solving problems in the now, I can also proactively take my learnings and implement solutions for upcoming programs. My team works alongside our cross-functional partners throughout the product development process since we have to be thinking about how the product is being presented throughout its entire life on the sales floor, from arrival in the back room to clearance time. We watch our colleagues work so hard to develop great products at a great value, and it's really up to our team to make sure that the right people are noticing their work. A lot of my time is spent balancing the needs of our internal and external customers, but ultimately, I have to think about how people shopping will interact with and move through our space. At the end of the day, my job is about taking our customers on a journey with our product, and telling them the kinds of stories that they want to be living. Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today? Honestly, myself. I grew up with a lot of the people around me telling me that I should choose a career path based on how stable it would make my life. But I think it's naive to expect any career path to be completely free of instability. It takes a lot of individual strength to take the path that might not guarantee success, but I think the real trick of it is defining what your success looks like on your own terms. When it comes down to it, you are all you’ve got. It's so powerful to lead from a place of believing in yourself. Recognize when you do hard things, validate yourself when you’re doing what’s right for you, and give yourself all the support you would so readily give to others. Thank you for sharing! 🧡 #JoeFresh #MyJFJourney #EmployeeAppreciation

Spring might be around the corner, but our latest Go Further Women event was a breath of fresh air.   Last week, over 100 women-identifying colleagues from Loblaw offices in the downtown core were invited to the Building Community and Connections networking event — diving into meaningful conversations that spanned topics like the double standard of confidence and overcoming imposter syndrome to recognizing the importance of intersectionality. Thank you to the GFW chapter and the PC Optimum, Advance powered by Loblaw, Joe Fresh, President's Choice Financial teams for holding space for one another. Here’s to more cross-functional connections continuing to bloom throughout the year!

Meet Victoria Genin! We asked Victoria a few questions about her role, see what she had to say below: What drew you to the Joe Fresh PR and Social Media Co-op position? I applied for this position primarily because it perfectly aligns with the two career paths I am actively pursuing. Moreover, the fashion industry is something that I have always been interested in and being able to do what I love in an industry I am passionate for, felt like a dream come true. Equally significant in my job search is workplace culture, and Joe Fresh’s emphasis on its inclusivity and dynamic work environment further drew me to this position.    What has been your favourite project at Joe Fresh so far? One of my favourite projects so far has been the Spring/Summer Press Preview. I had gotten the opportunity to actively participate in the planning and execution of this project and witnessing it come to life was incredibly rewarding. The event was a great success and had granted me invaluable insights into event planning, influencer marketing and networking within the fashion industry. This experience not only enhanced my event management skills but also broadened my understanding of the dynamic marketing trends in the fashion industry. Thank you for sharing! 🧡 #JoeFresh #MyJFJourney #EmployeeAppreciation

Meet Jene-Lee Alvir! We asked Jene-Lee a few questions about her role, see what she had to say below: How long have you been with Joe Fresh, and what do you do here? I have been fortunate to be part of the Joe Fresh team for 14 years (15 this November). I started my journey at Joe as a Part-Time Apparel colleague at one of our Real Canadian Superstore locations. Through the years I transitioned into the roles of a Cosmetics Colleague, Apparel Assistant Department Manager, Apparel Department Manager, Customer Experience Specialist for the Market Division and today my role is the Visual Merchandiser, Manager - Store Planning. Within my current role I am responsible for ensuring stores have their floor plans aligned with the business standards and that we are adapting to changes within a growing business. Aside from the store plans, I support our teams with their devices and staying connected to the Store Ops support. I have been able learn and grow from my various roles and each day I aspire to help make the business even better. What has been your favorite project at Joe Fresh? We have been able to see the business thrive each and every single year, but my favourite project at Joe Fresh has been leading the implementation and integration of Execute (new platform for stores to communicate, connect and interact with the Operations team). By getting all the stores on board with Execute we are beginning to see consistency in our merchandising. We are strengthening the frontline teams by offering the support and training they need through the use of technology. I am excited to see how Execute will help us showcase the best Joe Fresh for our customers. When we work as one, we deliver a strong message to our consumers. Thank you for sharing! 🧡 #JoeFresh #MyJFJourney #EmployeeAppreciation

Meet Kailey Ouchi! We asked Kailey a few questions about her role, see what she had to say below: What does your job entail? As a Design Director for Childrenswear, my role is multifaceted, blending creativity with analytics.   I am responsible for overseeing the design and concept of each season, leading the design process, and articulating my vision to my creative teams. I work closely with my team to build colour and print direction for the season and collaborate with various cross functional partners to source fabric and ensure costing fits within our retail parameters.   I analyze market trends, competitor assortments, and customer preferences to shape our assortment and identify market opportunities. I continuously review and analyze sales reports to understand customer preferences, using this information to ensure our product is appealing to our target market.   What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?   The best career lesson I’ve learned so far is to say “yes”. It's a common experience for many professionals to feel hesitant or unprepared when presented with new opportunities. When I was younger, I was presented an opportunity that I declined. Looking back, I didn’t appreciate that the opportunity could have altered my career path. Opportunities for growth often come disguised as challenges or additional responsibilities. By saying "yes," you open yourself up to new experiences and the chance to acquire new skills. Being open to possibilities can lead to unexpected and rewarding outcomes.   Encouraging a "say yes" mindset can help you grow personally and professionally. Thank you for sharing! 🧡 #JoeFresh #MyJFJourney #EmployeeAppreciation
