Hawk Machine Works Ltd. recently welcomed four local students to their team, further solidifying their commitment to nurturing young talent, fostering
growth within our community.
Several students were hired for orientation positions. These eager learners are now diving into Hawk Machine Works operations, shadowing skilled Red Seal journeyman machinists, apprentices, CNC operators, skilled assembly workers, quality control inspectors, quality assurance managers, management, and support staff. These students are thrilled by the opportunity to immerse themselves in the intricacies of a high quality, precision manufacturing company.
Additionally, Hawk created an opportunity for a driven Grade 12 student who is set to pursue engineering in university. With a keen eye for innovation, Hawk Machine Works crafted a position for this student to spearhead research and development, exploring the optimal utilization of cutting-edge technology, including the integration of a Cobot.
The journey for these students began on November 13, 2023 when Hawk Machine Works opened its doors for one of our Monday Night Career Series evenings, an event designed to showcase diverse career paths available within their business. During this event, students from across Kneehill County had the opportunity to tour Hawk's facility, gaining firsthand insight into their operations and the advanced technologies they employ.
Tim Stewart and Tina Bogle hosted the Career Series event in November, imparting invaluable wisdom about the importance of purpose and pride in one's work. Continuing to foster a culture of excellence and precision, Hawk Machine Works clearly stands behind its philosophy of empowering their employees to contribute meaningfully to something greater than themselves.
For the students who attended the tour, including the Grade 12 honours student they went on to hire, the experience served as a bridge between theoretical classroom concepts and real-world applications. Witnessing the practical implementation of math, chemistry, and physics principles ignited students passion for future career possibilities. Seeing the interest and engagement of students first-hand convinced Hawk Machine Works Ltd. to take a chance on hiring students. In return, these students are eager to impress and work hard for this opportunity.
Events like the Career Series Evening play a pivotal role in providing students with an insider's perspective, offering them experiences to make informed educational and career decisions. Talk to Kurt Ratzlaff or myself to learn about upcoming opportunities.
It is clear that Hawk Machine Works is dedicated to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and inspiring the next generation of leaders in the manufacturing industry. We look forward to the valuable contributions these young individuals will make in our local community and for the exciting journey ahead!
Thank you Hawk Machine Works Ltd. for taking a chance on hiring students!
