Across the globe, 380 billion cubic meters of municipal sewage are generated annually and go down the drain without making the most of it. In 2022, at False Creek, the local wastewater recycling unit generated 23,441 megawatt hours of thermal energy from sewage water with SHARC units, enough to heat 3,000 residential apartments for a year! These staggering numbers are only the tip of the iceberg with plans for an extension of 5 new SHARC 880s in the near future!

We are excited to share that SHARC Energy has been granted approval by the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters to pursue 10 pilot site projects for their PIRANHA Wastewater Heat Recovery Systems.
