Celebrating one of our graphic designers Annie Jin for #womenshistorymonth . If you've noticed something beautiful on the Spud website, an email, or even a bus stop Annie likely had something to do with it! "As a graphic designer, I find immense joy in witnessing my imaginative ideas and creative efforts come to life in my projects. My favourite aspect of my job at Spud is the flexibility to work independently, exploring ideas freely, while also collaborating with other creative individuals. This dynamic balance enables me to thrive. I am continually inspired and challenged by the incredibly talented individuals I am surrounded by, both personally and professionally. It’s a privilege to collaborate with such a talented team!" Her secret to creative designs and inspiration is Level Ground organic decaf coffee. Thank you Annie for all your hard work and beautiful designs!

Spud's #HerFairShare initiative is our commitment to enabling more women brands to succeed. We are committing to stocking 25% women-led brands by 2025, starting with opening our shelves to 5 new female-led vendors. Do you know a vendor that would be great? Tag them or send them the link below. Sharing the inspiring story of Karlene Karst founder of Verily Kitchen. We are so proud to be able to help local female-led businesses get off the ground from day 1. “Acquiring distribution and getting retailers to carry your product is one of the primary challenges, even if you have a great product. You need someone to promote it, especially in the fresh food category. When I launched Verily at the end of 2022, Spud was right there to support us. They were one of the first local groups to say yes and offer Verily as an option for customers. Spud was an excellent customer and partner, particularly in the early stages, helping us get Verily out there. They've always been supportive. I believe locally-minded businesses must support each other because without local support, expanding into other markets becomes much more difficult." #internationalwomensday2024 https://lnkd.in/geft3N96

Celebrating our female vendors for International Women's Day! Supporting local business will always be the core of what we do. We currently stock 20% female-led products, and we want to raise that. We are opening our shelves to 5 new female vendors! Know a business that would be great? Share the link below! Katie Ruddell the founder of Kokomo Foods, tells her story of pivoting to enter the CPG business with the help of Spud during the pandemic. “Looking back, Spud was the first retailer that stocked us and they pushed us in the direction of even creating a grocery line. We were just focused on restaurant operations, and then when COVID hit they created a new program about supporting local businesses, and they also had a lot of resources available for small businesses that had no idea how to enter the CPG world. Frankly, without Spud's support, we wouldn't have been able to list our product in-store, especially considering the listing fees. For small businesses, every dollar counts, and with slim profit margins, even a small loss can have a significant impact. That's why support from businesses like Spud, who not only provide another sales channel and marketing support but also waive costs like stocking fees, is invaluable.” https://lnkd.in/geft3N96
