Thank you Blue Cross of Canada and the Manitoba Medical Service Foundation for the award to prospectively evaluate surgical outcomes at our outpatient Men's Health urological surgery facility. The funding will allow us to develop a prospectively registry to real time monitor our surgical outcomes for quality assurance and to provide meaningful data for a host of benign urological procedures that currently has limited published outcomes data. Our initial retrospective series of procedures performed last year that historically were performed in the hospital demonstrated a low rate of of patients needing a visit outside our facility within 4-6 weeks after their procedure. While providing surgical services to an overburdened system is crucial to ensure delivery of timely care. We also need to ensure we are not putting undue strain on our emergency departments/urgent cares for post-operative issues.
