OpenAI’s Revenue Crossed $1.3 Billion Annualized Rate, CEO Tells Staff https://lnkd.in/eycW7UNp OpenAI, the research organization co-founded by Elon Musk, has reported a significant increase in its revenue in the third quarter of 2023. According to an internal memo from the CEO, Sam Altman, OpenAI's revenue reached an annualized rate of $1.3 billion, up from $800 million in the previous quarter. The main sources of revenue were the licensing fees from its AI products, such as GPT-4, Codex, and DALL-E. Altman also said that OpenAI plans to invest more in its research and development, as well as its social impact initiatives. One of the pioneers of AI, Geoffrey Hinton, who is known as the "godfather of AI", expressed his concerns about AI becoming smarter than humans and potentially manipulating them.
