💰How We Turned $150k into $1 Million💰
⭐️We often recognize contributions to our Altario Agriculture Academy and thank groups, individuals, and organizations for the support to our program. Here’s a bit of background or the big picture!⭐️
⁉️Prairie Land School Division has contributed approximately $150,000 to our agriculture initiatives. However, we have now invested over $1,000,000 in infrastructure, animals, and student scholarships at Altario’s school farm. How?⁉️
👉 Community Support Via Volunteers
We have several individuals in the community who are a phone call away with equipment and expertise to help build, fix, or run something!
👉Community Support Via Service Clubs
We have received substantial donations from service clubs and community associations over the years. These groups see the value of our program and are happy to show their support through financial contributions!
👉Community Support Through Individual Donations
Individuals, industry, and businesses often provide solicited and unsolicited donations to our academy. They can range from $100 to tens of thousands of dollars in cash or products!
👉Grants and Contests
We regularly apply for grants and enter contests. To date our largest grant was $186,000. Our smallest grant was $500. Our largest contest win was $15,000!
👉Income
Yes, we make money. We currently make around $60,000 a year selling produce, meat, and other products!
‼️We have a one of a kind student centred program that is continuing to grow and is embracing new initiatives. Behind the scenes many conversations and applications have happened and continue to occur so that we can build on our momentum. It takes time. It takes work. It takes energy. But it is all worth it!‼️
🚌Support like the support shown to Altario by our school division, our community, individuals, industry, and grants is pretty special. It’s also completely possible for any other rural school who has the support of their division and community. After all, we are just a small school with big ambitions!🎓
