Alexandra is an OCT teacher with experience teaching grades 4 through 12, as well as post-secondary. She is a passionate educator who enjoys working with students of all ages and helping them develop confidence as learners.

She received her Master of Arts in French Literature from the University of Toronto and her Bachelor of Education from Brock University.

In her free time, Alexandra enjoys different hobbies like pottery, hiking and knitting. Her greatest joy is camping in the backcountry.

An educator for eight years in Canada, the US, China, and the UAE, Ammarah has taught STEM subjects and standardized test preps. The international experience she has gained over the years has made her adept at developing and delivering plans that reach students with unique learning styles. Ammarah is a passionate teacher with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and truly enjoys the STEM subject area.

Anis is a high school math Teacher with vast knowledge for grades 9-12. He has experience teaching Canadian and American curriculum. Anis prepares students for SATs. Teaching advanced math including grade 12 calculus & vectors, Finite math, precalculus, algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry. His teaching methodology is making math relatable and fun through multiple strategies.

Christine has years of experience in individualized tutoring in chemistry and biology for university, college and high school students. She taught for 15 years in high school classrooms (biology and chemistry) with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and masters degree in education. She designed the curriculum and taught the study skills portion of a summer Learning Skills Workshop also serving as director of the program. She especially enjoys supporting young women interested in STEM careers.

Daniel’s passion is to help others achieve their goals and succeed. He is an Ontario certified teacher with qualifications in intermediate and senior level math and science, and in addition, is familiar with French. With over 15 years of tutoring, teaching, and coaching experience, he knows the positive impact that a mentor can have on a student’s life. While working as an at-home tutor and university co-op and career advisor, he prides himself on creating a genuine connection with his students and working together to reach their academic potential. As a high school student teacher, elementary school teacher’s aide, and swimming instructor, he kept students engaged by using creative, real-life examples and providing positive reinforcement to build confidence. Outside of tutoring, he is a sports fanatic! In his spare time, you can find him cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Toronto Raptors. He was even outside Scotiabank Arena the night the Raptors won the NBA championship

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Toronto Metropolitan University and a diploma in Fashion Design from George Brown College. Currently in her final year of the Bachelor of Education program at Lakehead University, she specializes in elementary education. Danielle is most passionate about tutoring in Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and History. Danielle’s teaching approach is marked by her commitment to providing clarity and understanding to her students through patience and the ability to simplify complex concepts. She dedicates herself to nurturing each student’s unique learning style and abilities, enabling them to reach their fullest potential. Danielle enjoys cooking, staying active through exercise, honing her sewing skills, and cherishing quality time with her son.

Deanna is an OCT certified teacher. She is qualified to teach primary, junior and intermediate levels. Deanna teaches and tutors in a variety of subjects including Language, Math, Science, French etc. Math is her specialty. She loves when her students get that “ah ha” moment and start to enjoy math. She says “numbers help students understand the world and how to solve real life problems. When a student understands math, they understand the world”

Katie holds an honours degree in English and Culture Studies, a Bachelors of Education degree, and is an official member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She has worked with a variety of students and needs; from working in daycare’s to high school with special education students. She has also taught as a swimming instructor. She primarily teaches Kindergarten to Grade 8 students core subjects (English, Social Studies, History, Math, Music, Physical Education, Science, and French, grades 1-3).
She is currently taking an Additional Qualification course regarding teaching Multilingual Language Learners (formerly ELL students). She has participated in Teacher Librarian PD sessions, as working as a Librarian is also of interest to her. She is working towards getting her Intermediate and Senior English teaching qualifications.

Kiana is a dedicated Ph.D. candidate with 5+ years of experience in providing individualized instruction to students of all ages. Skilled in tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering a positive learning environment, and utilizing various teaching methods and strategies. Proven track record of success as a teaching assistant, demonstrating strong communication skills, ability to motivate and encourage students, and patience and understanding.

Laura is a second year University student currently working towards her Bachelors of Social Work Honors program with a minor in psychology. She has always had a passion for working with children whether it be babysitting or tutoring her other clients. When her bachelors is completed, Laura will be moving on to teachers collage in dreams of becoming a full time teacher. Laura also loves to read and work outside in her free time.

Marty has 10 years of experience teaching at the college level and currently teaches Technological Design and Mathematics at the secondary level. He completed his undergraduate degrees at Brock University (B.Ed) and McMaster University (B.Tech), his three-year Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Mohawk College, and currently holds a license as a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario. Marty is an upbeat, enthusiastic person with a passion for teaching and learning. His strongest beliefs as an educator can be encapsulated by two quotes: “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn” (Ignacio Estrada) and, “Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way” (George Evans).

Ramsha is an Ontario Certified Teacher. In 2018, she graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior grade levels. In addition, Ramsha also graduated from McMaster University with Honors Bachelor of Arts in English and Cultural Studies. As well, she is currently completing a Master of Education. It is through teaching that Ramsha has been able to foster her love of English and Education. She developed her passion for teaching during her high school years volunteering at the school her mother taught at. She assisted teachers, students, and the school community during various events and continued to remain actively engaged in fostering and transforming students’ learning by helping and interning at the local schools during her undergraduate and professional studies. Through these experiences, Ramsha planned and delivered holistic activities and taught personalized, interactive one-to one lessons to students of different interests, needs, and abilities from kindergarten to grade 12. In her spare time, Ramsha enjoys reading and baking, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Scott is an upcoming graduate of the Schulich School of Education at the University of Nipissing as of June 2024. Scott has worked in classrooms ranging from grades 4-8 in both the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board and Grand Erie District School Board. In his time in the classroom, Scott has worked directly with students of various backgrounds to support their learning. Scott is dedicated to helping all students succeed in their Education and looks to incorporate a teaching style that aims to engage students of all abilities. Outside of the classroom, Scott looks to support the community by volunteering in after-school programs with organizations such as the YMCA, working with students between the ages of 3 and 12. A former football player with the University of Guelph, Scott also volunteers as a coach for the HFA, working with players between the ages of 10-12. Outside of sports and athletics, Scott is also interested in local history, working as an archaeologist in the summer months.

Shubhra is an engineer with a passion for teaching Math. She has 5 years of experience tutoring high school Math in North America. She is well-versed with all the high school Math courses in the Ontario Curriculum. Currently, she is an in-person full-time Math Tutor at Columbia International College. She caters to high school students across USA and Canada. Shubhra is patient and understanding, and loves to work with students! She enjoys long walks, reading, watching TV and knitting.

Travis P

Travis began his teaching journey by leading media and animation workshops for students in elementary schools in York Region. He has since acquired his Bachelor of Education degree from Lakehead University and has worked as an Occasional Teacher in Public Schools and as a Classroom Assistant for a summer camp program for students with ASD/Autism. He recently moved to Hamilton and is excited to begin working with students of all ages! He enjoys working one-on-one with learners and discovering new ways to make lessons more engaging, more personal more meaningful to his students.

Yamuna is a recently graduated Primary-Junior qualified teacher, currently employed with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. She has a passion for teaching and believes in the equity of education and individualized pathways to success. In her teaching practice, Yamuna is dedicated to creating a positive and engaging learning journey for her students.
