About Fueling
Brains Academy
Fueling Brains Academy provides nurturing early childhood education at our preschools and daycares in Calgary and Saskatoon. Since 2012, we have created engaging environments where children can learn through play. Our teachers encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
With small class sizes and low child-to-teacher ratios, we ensure each child receives individualized care and attention. Children grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually through our enriched programs incorporating art, music, science, math, and literacy.

Developing Executive Functions
Executive functions are three processes involved in problem-solving - cognitive flexibility, working memory, and inhibitory control. Fueling Brains Academy develops executive functions in children up to age seven - when, according to brain research, it matters most.
Child Intelligence Tracking and Wholistic Learning Environment
At Fueling Brains Academy, we test, track and measure every child's brain development. Through an easy-to-use app for both educators and parents, we have created a learning environment that extends from home to Fueling Brains Academy and back, helping children develop no matter where they are.
Curriculum
At Fueling Brains Academy, we follow the Montessori philosophy of education. This child-centered approach allows young learners to explore their interests through interactive lessons and hands-on materials. Our preschool programs in Calgary focus on building skills for independence, concentration, coordination, and problem-solving.
Children progress at their own pace through art, music, language, math, science, and practical life activities. Our caring teachers guide each student's individual development within a nurturing environment. Your child will thrive in our Montessori-based preschool and childcare programs.
Facilities
We provide inviting classrooms stocked with educational materials and toys. Our outdoor playgrounds allow children to run, climb, and play. Additional facilities include a library to encourage reading and a computer lab for hands-on learning. Our childcare centers engage children's bodies, minds, and imaginations in a nurturing environment.
Admission Process
- Fueling Brains Academy accepts children from 6 weeks old to 6 years of age (provided the child has not started attending Grade 1)
- We request that every family takes a tour prior to starting their child with us. On your tour, campus staff will provide you with a better understanding of the program philosophy, transitions, class sizes, and a complete breakdown of tuition, fees, subsidies, and other discounts. Tours are booked through our website or by calling our registration team. ` Please note that different Fueling Brains Academy campuses vary in the age of children they accept.
- Registration Families of prospective students must complete an application form and pay a non-refundable registration fee ($150.00) to gain admission to our program. All applications must be completed online.
In order to secure a spot at Fueling Brains Academy, all steps of the registration process must be completed for each child, which includes the following:
- Pay the non-refundable registration fee of $150.00 (payable per child and applicable per family, with additional payments credited back when spots are secured).
- Sign the enrollment contract upon receiving an Enrollment Offer, pending availability for the start date and schedule registered for.
- Submit the Annual Materials Fee payment for the school year through the Enrollment Offer form (September - August).
- If applying for future seats or when seats are unavailable, the registration fee serves as a waiting list fee to maintain priority.
- When an available seat is offered via email and all required items are received, the spot is confirmed as fully secured.
- Parents will be invited to a mandatory Parent Orientation with the Director before their child's first day, ensuring all necessary paperwork is signed.
- Please note that Parent Orientation may be conducted in a group or individual format at the campus level.
- Once all items are received by our registration team and space is confirmed as fully secured, parents will be invited by the campus for a Parent Orientation prior to your child’s first day of attendance with the Director of the campus. A Parent Orientation is a mandatory meeting with the Director to ensure the remaining paperwork required for your child’s first day is signed, and any questions you have to prepare for your start date will be answered. Please be aware that parent orientation is set up at the campus level and may be in a group format, or individual families.
In the classrooms, we follow the teacher-to-child ratios set by the provincial government bodies.
Our drop-off and pick-up processes are attended by campus leadership designates to ensure that the children are always in safe and verified hands.
We have a variety of emergency procedures in place to ensure the campus is fully prepared for any emergency situations.
All meals are prepared by qualified food safety professionals, and we adhere to strict procedures regarding allergies and dietary restrictions.
Every classroom is cleaned thoroughly at the end of each day and undergoes a deep clean once a week by a professional cleaning service.
In the classrooms, we follow the teacher-to-child ratios set by the provincial government bodies.

Our experience in Fueling Brains Academy Mcknight has always been an awesome one. The teachers in Mcknight are professionals and they help every child transition in the school. They give helpful suggestions to parents to also help their child. They are very inclusive, helpful and welcoming. We always appreciate their effort to make sure our childs physical and emotional needs are met. Our kid would always want to go to Fueling brains because he get to learn new things everytime and that makes this place special.

WALDEN CAMPUS
Fueling Brains in Walden is a wonderful environment for a child. One of the standout features is the stability of the teaching staff, means a lot from various aspects. The program has a holistic approach, thoughtfully structured and allows children on daily basis to explore and learn in different classroom settings. Love the combination of both learning philosophies (Reggio Emilia and Montessori) and how they integrated sport – Movement classroom. The classrooms themselves are bright, open, dynamic, sparking curiosity and our son absolutely loves it there. The outdoor area is spacious, well maintained and I really like that is attached to a seniors home. A unique aspect we appreciate is the connection to a seniors' home, allowing for intergenerational interactions that enrich both the children's and seniors' lives. Plus, the shared kitchen is a big plus. Food is good, healthy, diverse meals. Menu is communicated in advance, overall the communication about everything is clear and open. Really happy our son (3yo) spends his time there. He learns a lot, through play! Continents, cultures, parts of a plant, solar system, recreating paintings, jumping through hoops, dancing......! Only comment around improvement – I wish they would have a tree in the backyard so children could climb it! Ha!

My child has been attending Kids U Bridgeland since January 2024 and we have been really impressed. The teachers are kind, loving, and passionate. They genuinely care about the kids and have made the transition into daycare as smooth as possible not only for my child, but for me too.
