While our phones and tablets may be our biggest distraction, fortunately, they can also offer our biggest source of productivity and help keep us a little bit more organized. Take a look at the apps we love to use to increase our productivity and bring organization to our lives.


Forest
Have you ever heard of the Pomodoro technique? Pick your task, set your timer for 25 minutes, work on your task, then take a short 5-minute break. After your five minutes, you repeat the cycle until you’ve finished your task or reach four sessions, then you can take a longer break! This is the same principle; only it cleverly uses a little tree! Through a 25 minute session, you can grow your tree from a sapling to a big strong tree! The more sessions you have, the bigger the forest you grow. Even better, the makers of Forest paired up with a charity that plants trees. So you can be productive and charitable! It’s a win/win!



GoodNotes
Do you have an iPad and an Apple Pencil, and you’re looking to go paperless? Check out GoodNotes. This app is a great way to keep everything organized where you need it in the cloud. It’s also completely customizable. You can choose between light mode or dark mode, whether your notebook is college or wide ruled, if you’ve got columns, dots, or a grid. You can even add pictures and choose the cover for your notebook. It’s a great way to jot down things when you don’t have a traditional pen and paper handy, and you can even find downloadable templates and stickers online.

Trello
Trello features both a mobile app and a desktop app and is great for managing your workflow. If you find yourself struggling with what task to do next in tandem with Forest. You can organize your projects, create different boards, assign due dates to your projects, and more.

Due
Who else is super guilty about forgetting to cancel the subscription to the yoga app you signed up for a month ago and then never doing a single yoga lesson? This will help. If you’re the type to forget everything under the sun from bills, to apps, to deadlines, Due will help remind you. A lot. With a whole bunch of persistent notifications that you can’t ignore despite your best efforts.

Evernote
There’s a reason why they say “tried and true,” and Evernote checks all those marks. Evernote has been around forever, and there’s a reason why it’s a favorite. It’s great for taking notes, organizing your ideas, photos, sketches, PDFs, and more - it’s even searchable. You can scan in important documents or notes you jotted down on the back of a napkin; you can save web pages to return to later for reference. It’s a work-elephant.
