Kitra was started by Vancouver entrepreneurs Anthony Pavlakovic and Toddy Pretty because no one in North America was refinishing kitchen cabinetry and other millwork to a factory-grade level. Everything that was being done was unfortunately of low-quality, highly temporary and would rarely ever meet the demands of interior designers, architects and licensed general contractors. Kitra wanted to change this.

Our lacquer has zero hazardous pollutants, contains no formaldehyde, is non-flammable, is non off-gassing, and conforms to the strictest health-based program requirements (LEED & Green Seal). Combining this with our proprietary spray equipment and techniques and Kitra provides a guarantee-backed coating that shocks every one of our clients.
We at Kitra feel strongly that the life of cabinetry can and should be absolutely extended well beyond their 15-20 year lifespan, and that the landfills could be spared millions of tons of unnecessary waste.
