English Setters.Their ancestry goes back to one of the oldest gundog breeds developed in England more than 400 years ago. Among its forebears are the Spanish pointer, French pointer and a variety of spaniels. In fact, the breed was originally known as a setting spaniel believed to have developed from Spaniel stock.
