Austin Insulators Inc was formed in 1999 following a management buyout of the Radio Insulator business formerly owned by Litton Industries. Following the successful launch of the Insulator business, a division known as Austin Navigation was formed to market Electronic Navigation Systems for ocean going vessels on both the East and West Coast.
In 2004 a new division originally called Austin Health was formed to seek and develop new health and comfort related products for the Canadian market place. In 2006 the efforts of Austin Health resulted in the development of a range of bedding products, primarily mattress and pillow case covers and protective barriers presently marketed by a new Austin division called Taperly Products using the name Rest-Guard. This new range of products has seen wide consumer acceptance over a short period of time.
